Our Story
In 1968 the Methodist Church purchased the adjacent Mason building. After much renovation, it was thought that the rooms were too nice and well equipped to be used only on Sunday Mornings. Since there was no weekday nursery school program in the area at that time, the Education Committee decided to sponsor such a program.
That September two teachers, Carole Sparkman and Dorothy Cook, and six children began the first year of Christian Play School. By October, thirteen children were enrolled. A waiting list became necessary as space was limited.
In the summer of 1971, the first floor of Wesley Hall was needed for offices and Play School moved across the Square to the United Ministry of Delhi, where it had the use of several rooms.
